Soldier Recognizes His Wife’s Service
By Katie • Apr 23rd, 2009 • Category: Featured, Post-Deployment, RelationshipsThis is a sweet post from another Army wife…. what a wonderful sentiment from her soldier!

My Medal for “Army Wife” Service
DH gave me his ARCOM medal, which is awarded to soldiers that “distinguishes himself or herself by an act of heroism, extraordinary achievement, or meritorious service.”
He said my service as an Army wife qualifies as extraordinary and heroic and that Army wives deserve awards for all the crap they have to put up with.
We do indeed.
Thanks for noticing babe.
And thanks to you (and the soldiers you served with) for the sacrifices that you had to make and people you saved in order to be awarded this yourself. I know you (and they) don’t do it for the medals, but you deserve them nonetheless.
So here is an ARCOM for all my fellow military wives who put up with crap that no one should have to put up with and keep their marriages and families going through deployments, crisis, and all the other $*&& the military throws at us.
Congrats on your heroism ladies, you are all extraordinary.
Katie is of the opinion that re-deployment is harder than deployment itself. The year Paul and I spent apart was tough, but nothing could have prepared me for trying to come back together again. Homecoming was full of challenges I never expected - no matter how many books I read!
