The Army can Facebook – but not Deployed Soldiers
By Katie • Apr 27th, 2009 • Category: Communication, In the PressThe Army has now launched a Facebook page. So far, they have about 8,000 fans. (No, I’m not one of them 😉 )
Here’s an article about how they’re trying to get onboard with social media – even while banning its use by deployed soldiers.
If you want to “friend” the Army, go ahead. As for me, after this deployment… I’m not sure I’m ready to be friends yet. It’s not you, Uncle Sam, it’s me.
Here’s another article about how all branches of the military are using social media for recruiting.
Katie is of the opinion that re-deployment is harder than deployment itself. The year Paul and I spent apart was tough, but nothing could have prepared me for trying to come back together again. Homecoming was full of challenges I never expected - no matter how many books I read!
