5 Positive Things About Deployment
By Jennifer • Apr 15th, 2010 • Category: FeaturedOkay, so I have been trying to think positively about deployment since it continues to lurk in the dark corner. Here is about all I could muster up.
1. Getting the bed to myself. While it might take me a month to get use to sleeping without him, I eventually start taking up the entire bed.
2. Less cleaning. My husband is a pretty clean guy, but one less person in the house means a little less dirt.
3. Reading the paper or watching TV during dinner. Of course when my hubby is home, we chat during dinner about our days. However, no hubby means lonely dinners and I do my best to keep myself occupied with the news and some Access Hollywood.
4. Putting my shoes in the laundry room. It is a pet peeve of my husbands if I leave a few pairs of shoes in the laundry room. When he isn’t here they tend to pile up!
5. Black beans for dinner. My husband is a picky eater so when he is gone I get to make things he will not eat, even black beans if I want (little to no clean up makes me happy).
However, I’m not trying to kid myself. There is a list 5 times as long of things that I hate during deployment. But hey, you have to stay positive to survive.
Jennifer is in the mist of Mike's 6th deployment. This is proving to be the hardest deployment of them all.
